Austria’s oldest Benedictine monastery was turned into this unique hotel in the centre of Mondsee, only a short walk from the lakeshore. Internet access and parking are free of charge. The rustic-style Schlossbräu offers traditional Austrian cuisine. First mentioned in documents in 739, the monastery was turned into a palace by Napoleon in 1810. Nearby Lake Mondsee and the other lakes of the Salzkammergut region offer a wide range of water sports.
